Dieter Hecking said a late eight place would be "historic" for his Wolfsburg side: "Going through to the next round would be historic for our club, but the same is true of Gent. And we should not make the mistake of thinking about the next round yet anyway. We have to play one more match and we can't afford to be carefree."

Gent manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck believes his side need a "miracle" to progress. "Wolfsburg generally don't lose at home with more than two goals difference," he added. "That doesn't mean we're giving up because miracles do happen."
