Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim: "All Champions League games are played in midweek, so we have to adjust to be in shape for European matches as well as domestic league fixtures. Monaco – like the other teams in the Champions League – play a little bit differently in Europe than they do in the league because it is a different level of game. Our objective is to win. We didn't expect to suffer so many defeats in so few games. Our way of playing football is ambitious. Monaco is an ambitious team. We stuck to our ideas."

Zenit manager André Villas-Boas: "I have always had a very good relationship with Jardim. We have had to adapt to new teams and are faced with similar challenges. Yesterday we talked on the phone; it was a nice, friendly conversation. Monaco's experience could play a big part. They have a lot of good players, such as [Ricardo] Carvalho, [João] Moutinho and [Dimitar] Berbatov, who have played in European competition."

Zenit and Monaco meet at the Petrovski Stadium in match week two having both picked up victories in their opening games of this Champions League season.
Zenit impressively beat Benfica 2-0 in Portugal to start their Group C campaign this month and are top of the Russian Premier League.
They have only lost four of their 49 European home games, winning 30 of them but face a Monaco side who are competing in Europe's elite club competition for the first time in nine years.
The Ligue 1 side are aiming to build on their opening win over Bayer Leverkusen, where Joao Moutinho sealed a 1-0 victory.
