Joe Hart always had that cross covered. Aguero can't get his toe through the ball at the other ened as Akinfeev makes a comfortable stop.
10'
Honda slides Tosic free down a wing, but he ends up knocking the cross into the side netting. On we go with the score at 0-0.

8'
City trying to keep the ball with some relish which is easier said than done on a pitch resembling a farmer's field.
7'

Chance for City, but Yaya Toure can't convert after Aguero had headed on the Silva corner. CSKA almost caught cold in Moscow. No surprise there.
2'
Hart quickly off his line to clear the ball under a bit of pressure. City being kept on their toes here early on.

A cold night in Moscow as you would expect. At least it is dry, but the pitch looks dreadful.
16:55
Teams out on the park. Almost ready to go in this one. Match odds in case you fancy a flutter: CSKA 4/1, Manchester City 3/4, Draw 29/10.
16:50
Leonid Slutsky has a lot of respect for the City foward Alvaro Negredo. "He (Negredo) is an outstanding player and the very fact he has edged out Edin Dzeko in the starting line-up means a lot. But it is very hard to focus on any individuals in tomorrow's game. They have such great competition within the team. (Yaya) Toure, Fernandinho, (Joe) Hart - and they can allow themselves not to play (James) Milner, who is one of the key players for the English national team. That says a lot about them."
16:45
This is the first competitive meeting between these two teams. CSKA Moscow have failed to score in four of their six Champions League games against English sides. Their only win against English opposition came in October 2006 against Arsenal. CSKA have won three of their last 12 Champions League games (three draws, six defeats).
16:40
City make three changes from the side that won 3-1 at West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday. Micah Richards, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri all drop out with Pablo Zabaleta, Aleksander Kolarov and Jesus Navas brought in. Yaya Toure is captain in the absence of the missing Vincent Kompany, who continues to struggle with a thigh problem. Sergio Aguero leads the line for the visiting side.
16:35
Fernandinho insists City must go all to win in their bid to qualify in second place behind Bayern. “This is all about six points because we play CSKA twice back-to-back and we must win there. If we do that and then beat them at home, we will take a big step towards qualification. We have two hard away games this week with Chelsea coming up on Sunday, but we will try to keep our concentration."
16:30
The hosts have apparently painted green the surface of the Khimki Arena because it is in such a poor condition. Even the CSKA manager has admitted that the pitch is in awful condition. Leonid Slutsky said: "I suppose the quality of the pitch is, absolutely, equal to the quality of our latest results." CSKA have not played at the ground for two months with their last Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen being moved to St Petersburg three weeks ago.
16:25
Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City): "I just saw the pitch, I think it's unbelievable that the most important cup competition in the world is allowed to be played on this pitch. We must pray on Wednesday that it's not raining. If it's raining it will be impossible to play on this pitch. It could be called off. I didn't believe it when I saw the pitch – both for the two teams and also for the people who will watch the game. This is the most important competition in the world."
