Debutant Kalifa Traore is the man to commit the foul. The youngster challenges Silvio in the air inside the penalty area, missing the ball and catching the Benfica man in the face.

Lucas swings in a corner from the left. but Cavani is penalised for a foul.

Some positive news for the hosts. Anderlecht have just equalised against Olympiacos. Benfica need to better Olympiacos' result - they need to get back on level terms now...

That goal leaves the hosts in real trouble. They need something out of this game to advance into the knockout stages.

CAVANI SCORES!! The visitors take the lead. Wonderful play from Pastore on the edge of the penalty area. The Argentine jinks his way past three players to cross from the left. The ball somehow finds its way through everyone in the box and beats the despairing dive of Artur. Menez picks it up on the right touchline and drills it back across goal where Cavani taps in from two yards.

The home fans jeer the PSG players after Gaitan goes down when trying to bick the ball off Cavani inside the centre circle. The Benfica players and fans want the ball to be put into touch, but the French side aren't interested.

Olympiacos have just taken the lead against Anderlecht. As it stands, it would be the Greek side going through to the knockout stages at Benfica's expense.

The PSG players are incensed as Pereira hits the deck on the right wing. Digne is adamant he took a tumble but the referee deemed the contact enough to award a free-kick.

Pereira is the first man to go into the referee's book this evening. The full-back leaves his foot in on Thiago Motta and is rightly cautioned.

Matic should do better. Perez shows lovely footwork on the right of the penalty area before crossing for his teammate. Matic arrives late and is unmarked but heads over from 12 yards.

What a superb bit of football from the hosts. Maxi bursts down the right and flicks the ball past Digne to roll it back into the path of Gaitan. The Argentine opens his body to set himself and attempts to find the far corner, missing narrowly.

Cavani finds some space in-behind the Benfica defence and goes through on goal. The Uruguayan looks in two minds as to whether he should pass or shoot and takes too long to do either before being tackled.

Sirigu races off his line in the hope of preventing a corner and almost makes a complete hash of his punch. The official on the far side blows for a Benfica set-piece, however, and saves the keeper's blushes.

Marquinhos looks to release Digne down the left but the ball is overhit slightly. The full-back busts a gut to reach it in time but a superb sliding challenge from Pereira sees the hosts win a goal kick.

It's been a solid debut from debutant Kalifa Traore at right-back for the visitors. Though he was nutmegged early on, he's not looked out of his depth.

Gaitan's corner from the left is a poor one and is cleared at the front post. His second delivery is much better, though, but it's cleared from the six-yard box by Marquinhos.

Incredibly greedy play from Menez. Pastore splits the Benfica defence with a lovely through-ball as the Frenchman bursts down the left. Cavani and Lucas wait in the box but Menez opts to shoot from the tightest of angles.

It has been a very positive opening quarter-of-an-hour for the hosts who have pushed their opponents hard. As always, though, PSG look dangerous on the counter.

Gaitan wriggles his way through a number of bodies on the edge of the PSG penalty area. He wants to pull the trigger but can't do and dwells on it too long. He goes down and wants a penalty but the referee is not interested.
