The Manchester United boss - an ex-Rangers player - has offered his Hoops counterpart regular "tit-bits" of advice as the Parkhead side battled through two qualifiers before coming second to Barcelona in their group to take them into the knockout stages where they were paired with the Italian giants.

GOAL! Celtic 0-1 Juventus! Terrible defending from Ambrose as Alessandro Matri muscles past him to meet a bouncing ball and taps it under Fraser Forster. The ball is cleared off the line but Claudio Marchisio is there to sweep the ball into the roof of the net.

Wanyama with the first effort of the night and he takes aim from 30 yards and sends a wickedly swerving shot at goal. It is sneaking wide but Gianluigi Buffon tips it round for a corner nonetheless.

The atmosphere at Celtic Park does sound rather incredible. If there is such a thing as a 12th man then Celtic have one tonight.

Time for some quick stats from Opta: "Fraser Forster was the busiest goalkeeper in the group stages among the teams who reached the last 16 with 25 saves. Andrea Pirlo completed the most crosses during the group stages (23). Only PSG conceded fewer goals (3) than Juventus (4) in the Champions League group stages this season.
