Penalty? No! It looks a certain penalty as Ederson is hauled down inside the penalty area, and Nuno Morais gets away with one there. There was clear contact, but referee Paolo Tagliavento ignores it.

Remi Garde is already out on the edge of the penalty area barking orders, and he is very animated indeed!

Lloris: "A lot of people have said that APOEL are not prestigious opponents. That may even be the case but they finished first in their group ahead of FC Porto and I can assure you that they are a well-organised team who are a particularly dangerous on the counterattack."

STAT: APOEL won their first ever away match in Europe (in 1963), but have lost 25 and drawn nine of the 34 road trips since in all European competitions (excluding qualifiers).

Remi Garde: "Whoever the opponent, you have to improve your level to perform well in the Champions League. We know a lot of people believe we will easily win against APOEL. Of course, it's not our opinion. APOEL have had a wonderful group stage, they deserve a lot of respect, like any team that has reached the knockout stages."

Ivan Jovanovic: "(Lyon) haven't been getting the results they wanted in Ligue 1 but they remain dangerous and there could be a reaction in the Champions League. We haven't forgotten, though, that they have played five games in the last two weeks. The knockout stage is the 'true' Champions League. There's a lot at stake. We couldn't believe we were here at the beginning of the season. I honestly don't know what our best level is but I'm hoping that we can still improve."

TEAM NEWS: Lyon's John Mensah has only just returned from African Cup of Nations duty with Ghana, and is not expected to be in the squad. Fellow defender Dejan Lovren is yet to play this year after suffering an Achilles injury.

APOEL have something of an injury crisis in defence for their trip to France. Marcelo Oliveira and Paulo Jorge were both missing at the weekend, so midfielder Nuno Morais had to fill in at centre-back. However, William Bonaventura's domestic suspension does not apply in Europe, so he is available.
