Van der Vaart has won a free kick in a dangerous area on the right for Spurs and Crouch very nearly headed in van der Vaart's tempting ball in.

Bale keeps swinging in dangerous crosses from the left, but Twente are failing to close him down. Crouch will get the end of one of them sooner or later.

Tom Huddlestone is a very lucky boy. Janssen fouled Huddlestone and the Spurs man swung an elbow at him, catching him in the face. That was a clear red card, but I think the referee missed it.

Modric lays the ball to van der Vaart, who shoots right-footed from the edge of the box but Mihailov makes a strong one-handed save.

Bale's teasing cross is almost reached by Crouch but he can't position his body into a shooting position. Very close there.

Great save from Gomes! Spurs were all over the place there as Huddlestone lost the ball and left Bajrami with just Gomes to beat, but Gomes makes an excellent one-handed save.

Pavlyuchenko comes close from the edge of the box after Huddlestone's knock down. Just wide.

Gareth Bale has skided into the advertising boards and looks in real pain. Game going on though.

Twente playing some neat stuff when they get the ball, but Bale attacks down the left but his cross is cut out. Van der Vaart is FURIOUS that Bale didn't role the ball across to him in space.

Good play by Tottenham. Huddlestone spreads a pass out to the left and Bale side-foots a cross into Crouch, who can't quite get there ahead of the keeper, Mihailov.

Ledley King finds himself on the right wing, yes the right wing, and looks lost. Eventually he loses the ball.

Douglas gets behind the Spurs defence and Jansen's ball over the top is only just beyond Douglas' head. Crouch lost him and that's an early warning sign to Spurs.

Twente are preventing Spurs from getting into their stride, and are pressuring the home side from getting into their stride.
