Gladbach lost 1-0 at SC Freiburg in the most recent matchround but have not lost consecutive Bundesliga fixtures since April 2019.

It is only really a matter of when, not if Bayern will claim an eighth straight Bundesliga title. No other team has won more than five Bundesliga titles in total - Dortmund and Gladbach both have won five. Also, Bayern can become the second team in one of Europe's top five leagues to win eight consecutive domestic top flight titles, after Juventus in Serie A from 2011/12 to 2018/19. Juve are still on course for their ninth successive Serie A title this season.

However, Gladbach have won three of their last five Bundesliga matches versus Bayern (W3-D0-L2), but both defeats in that run were by a 5-1 scoreline. NO LEWA, BUT GNABRY FIT TO START: With Robert Lewandowski suspended, 19-year-old Joshua Zirkzee gets the nod up front for Bayern and will lead the line flanked by Serge Gnabry, who has recovered from a knee injury to take his place in the starting XI. Thomas Muller is also suspended, while Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies drop to the bench. Lucas Hernandez, Mickael Cuisance and Ivan Perisic come in. Marcus Thuram will again lead the line for Gladbach, who are without the suspended Alassane Plea.
