Bristol City started the day with just five points from the season so far in the Women's Super League but they added what is a potentially vital sixth with a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon. The home side led twice but were unable to hold on against the league's bottom side, who had a great goal from Carrie Jones to thank for a point.

A superb strike from Carrie Jones secured a point for Bristol City as they drew 2-2 at Aston Villa in the Women's Super League.
VIlla started the game in eighth place after a middling campaign so far, while Bristol City have just five points and are rooted to the bottom of the table.
On 13 minutes, Jordan Nobbs scored the opener for the home side, as Bristol City were unable to properly clear a corner and the ball reached Nobbs on the edge of the penalty area.
Aiming towards goal, a huge deflection helped the ball into the bottom corner.
Two minutes later, Villa’s Anna Patten lost control with a loose pass, and Emily Syme seized on the ball to find Amalie Thestrup, who slotted past Daphne van Domselaar in goal to make it 1-1.
Villa were able to regain the lead on the hour mark, again through a corner.
Once more, City were unable to clear their lines from the set piece, and the ball reached the edge of the box once more, with Patten receiving the ball out wide and sending in a cross from the right wing.
The ball was met at the back post by Rachel Corsie, who played the ball back into the danger area and Adriana Leon finished from a narrow angle.
However, Bristol City were not ready to give up and they had Jones to thank 15 minutes later. Kenza Dali’s clearance went straight to Jones, who found the bottom corner from 25 yards out.
The point for Villa leaves them in eighth spot, while for Bristol they are now two points behind West Ham directly above them.
