Ousmane Dembele is the favourite to land football's top individual accolade after starring in Paris Saint-Germain's stunning treble-winning season, but he will face competition from eight team-mates.
Dembele is hotly tipped to win the leading prize from France Football, following an incredible past 12 months.
The 28-year-old scored 35 goals and registered 16 assists in 53 appearances across all competitions in a trophy-laden 2024/25 campaign.
PSG ended that wait for an elusive first European title with a stunning 5-0 annihilation over Internazionale in the UEFA Champions League final.
Dembele is joined by Gianluigi Donnarumma, Desire Doue, Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Kylian Mbappe, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz.
Doue's nomination adds to his selection in the men's Kopa Trophy category, with the 20-year-old making a name for himself with a brace in the aforementioned 5-0 win over Inter.
Another contender to claim a Ballon d'Or and Kopa Trophy double is Lamine Yamal, who played a starring role in Barcelona's domestic treble-winning campaign.
Among the other stand-out nominees are Napoli's Scott McTominay, who has enjoyed a renaissance beyond his wildest dreams in Italy.
Following a transfer from Manchester United in August 2024, McTominay's impact in Serie A has been breathtaking.
The Scotland international was named Serie A's Most Valuable Player, and scored perhaps the most memorable of his 13 goals in a 2-0 win over Cagliari which secured the Serie A title.
New Arsenal signing Viktor Gyokeres is included following his exploits with Sporting CP, including an impressive 54 goals in 52 appearances, as the Lisbon outfit won a Portuguese league and cup double.
