Evening all! So, we've got Cameroon v Ghana in one semi-final; tonight, Egypt and Morocco will compete to face Burkina Faso in the other one, on Wednesday.

Egypt now huddle on the pitch. All the difference, I'm sure.

...well, out come Egypt. Morocco chat in the tunnel and are hurried along by the officials.

Out come the chaps...

I suppose that the first half of Ghana-DRC was useless, so you never know, we could be in for something.

That was a mess. Neither side found any fluency, with the obvious caveat that they're playing on a potato field, and there was a bit of redemptive niggle which at least gives us something to hope for in the second half. Otherwise, this is one for the purists.

Half-time: Egypt 0-0 Morocco

Morocco have been much the better side in the last fifteen minutes, such that such a thing exists.

We've got two added minutes of this, and then we can hope the second half is better. Thing is, fair enough, the pitch is a disgrace, but some intensity and running about wouldn't go amiss.

Oh, mate! Dirar nutmegs Fathi down the right and proceeds along the by-line, but the slams his cross so ineptly that it flies out of the box but through the D. In fairness, he didn't have much at which to aim: two attackers versus six defenders.

Mohsen is down again - it appears I was wrong, and he will depart - hiding his tears in his shirt, poor lad. Ahmed Hassan replaces him.

Mohsen is still at the side, flexing his knee. Egypt aren't exactly missing him, due to the very little he's done today and in midweek.

Mohsen leaps into a tackle with Da Costa and jars his knee on the turf. He looks in a fair bit of pain, but I'd still expect him to keep at it.

Egypt need to get Salah on the ball. In the Ghana game, he sorted things with a free-kick, but as the best attacker on either side, the onus is on him to do something from open play.

The ball goes backwards and forwards over the halfway line.

Da Costa getfights his way around Fathi, stretching to send over a cross as the ball runs away from him. But, in the middle, Saiss misses his kick, then when it bounces up for him off Hegazy, flicks a header against the bar.

Da Costa runs through El Said and Egypt have yet another free-kick. They do nothing with it, mind.

Salah finds himself down the right of the box, with time to pick out a decent cross as the ball bounces. He picks out Benatia's head instead.

Benatia and Bouhaddouz gang up on Trezeguet, and when the referee whistles - again - consternation ensues.

If we all focus our positive energy on repairing the pitch , maybe that'll make for a better game. 1, 2, 3, go.

Benatia feels up Salah, ceding another free-kick. That's about as exciting as we're getting right now.
