Evening all. I'd love to offer you drama and derring-do, but that is, I'm afraid, unlikely tonight. Ghana are through, and with a draw will top the group; Egypt are not through, but with a draw will come second in the group. Neither side look good enough to force the issue, so expect, er, one for the purists.

That was a pretty reasonable half of association football. It took going behind for Ghana o rouse themselves but when they did, they moved the ball nicely. That said, Egypt look to have a little more pace up front, and have come as close to scoring again as Ghana have to equalising.

Half-time: Egypt 1-0 Ghana

In commentary, Stewart Robson says that Michael Ballack told him Avram Grant was the best manager he played under at Chelsea. That sounds odd, but it isn't: "He let me do what I wanted."

Egypt come forward immediately, Trezeguet speeding along with the ball and crossing low into the middle, whereupon Mohsen lays back to Elneny. He opens his body to curl a low sidefooter into the corner, but Boye does well to get a foot in and block.

So close Ghana! They win a free-kick down the right and this time, Atsu whips over a brilliant cross to the backpost, where Amartey runs away from Trezeguet. But Trezeguet does very well to pull his short, meaning he arrives just a split-second late after shaking him off, hurling himself at the ball but heading just over the top.

Gyan departs, grimacing; Jordan Ayew comes on. It can be tricky with soft tissue injuries, but let's hope that's not the end of his tournament.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Afful slides a backpass to Razak, whose clearance is brilliantly poor, picking out Mohsen on the right corner of the box., He controls and chips, but the ball sails just onto the roof of the net.

Tetteh has looked lively, and he picks up possession on the left, shaking across Elmohamady and into the box before lashing a shot amazingly wide.

Gyan chases off to the left, pursuing a loose ball with Gabr in pursuit, and as they jostle he pulls up. Looks like he'll celebrate his 100th cap by going off injured.

Nice football by Egypt before Ghana seize possession and break, Gyan holding it up and holding off Hegazy before sliding square into the path of the onrushing Ayew. But his first touch is appalling, forcing him to pace to the line where he does a decent job of digging out a cross - but El Hadary collects easily enough.

El Hadary is down after being pushed by Amrtey, so there's a brief hiatus while he's treated.

Gyan worries Hegazy as he tries to shield the ball out of play, but again Atsu's corner is useless, headed clear at the near post. Ghana come again though, and Tetteh's cross is blocked behind for another corner. He takes it himself, as you might, pumping it into the space at the near post, and Gyan, having left his man in the middle, can't quite wrap his head around it, sending a fair effort over the bar - while Fathi administered a shove.

Given how sparse the crowds have been, this sounds like a good ruse to me.

Egypt are now the only team in the competition yet to concede a goal. Apologies to any Malians reading.
26'
Badu persuades Elmohamady to concede a throw, which goes to Afful, who crosses, but Atsu can't pick the ball up at the other end.

More possession for Ghana, who're now dominating midfield - perhaps Amartey and Badu are getting used to one another, perhaps Egypt are sitting off. But either way, they're still struggling to create.

Ghana have been slightly better these last few minutes, first Atsu and then Tetteh wriggling space, before Elneny marches through Ayew and Egypt clear once more.
