Afful gets forward from right-back for Ghana but his cross is hacked away before it reaches the waiting Ghana forwards.

BIG CHANCE! First big chance of the game falls to Algeria's Bentaleb! The Spurs man makes a late run into the box and shoots first time from the cut back from the right, but puts his right-footed effort well wide. Big chance, should score.

Belfodil turns again and cuts in from the right but his pass is a poor one and intercepted easily.

Taider is very lucky not to be carded for a late one on Andre Ayew's ankle. A very naughty challenge, of which there have been a few so far.

Ghana work the ball into the Algeria penalty area for the first time, but Jordan Ayew is just offside.

Brahimi goes down clutching his head after a clumsy aerial challenge by Acquah, who could have seen yellow had the referee had a better view. As it is, Algeria get the free-kick.

Algeria are marginally on top in the opening stages here. They're winning most of the 50/50 balls and keeping the ball well.

Still waiting for the quality of these two sides to shine through.

We're seeing some rough challanges in central midfield here. Not a chance either of these sides are going to go easy.

That was almost very embarrassing for Ghana.

Wow! Ghana keeper Razak takes a very heavy first touch from a back pass and Brahimi comes steaming in for Algeria, but Razak just does enough to recover and make the clearance.

Algeria win a free kick 25 yards out. Left-back Faouzi Ghoulam lashes it at goal but it drifts high and just wide.

Algeria have started brightly, but it's a slow pace early on here. Ghana just feeling their way into this one.
