South Africa are trynig to get something going but Algeria are just starting to control proceedings.

South Africa's misses, most notably from Rantie from the penalty spot, look like they are going to prove very costly.

GOAL!! GHOULAM FIRES ALGERIA IN FRONT!! Remarkably Algeria are now in front as Ghoulam fires a wicked left-foot shot past Keet. But the keeper should have done better.

Almost immediately from the restart South Africa fashion a chance, but Rantie again picks out M'Bohli.

Suddenly South Africa look shaky at the back as Oupa Manyisa hacks behind after Keet drops a cross.

GOAL!! ALGERIA EQUALISE AS HLATSHWAYO HEADS INTO OWN NET!! Yacine Brahimi, who had done nothing previously, whips in a cross that Hlatshwayo glances past his own keeper.

Algeria have suddenly come to life following the penalty and South Africa are forced to withstand a period of sustained pressure and a couple of corners. Which they do, just about, as Keet punches clear.

Keet's chance to make himself a hero as he saves twice from Slimani from point blank range. The first a cheeky back-heel and the second a header as the Sporting man followed in his shot.

Mandi was shown a yellow card for the challenge that gave away the penalty. It could have been red.
