FAIRYTALE COMEBACK FOR SHAW SEES LIVERPOOL PROGRESS
Liverpool pipped Charlton Athletic to the post in the final five minutes of extra-time to deny them a chance to progress to the semi-finals.
Liverpool played the more attacking game, but squandered opportunities and failed to outshine their second-division opponents, who defended well.
Elisha N’Dow, in particular, shone for Charlton, defensively speaking.
The hosts, playing for the biggest audience they’ve had in 20 years, looked like they might be able to hold on for penalties, but 103rd-minute substitute Zara Shaw eventually broke the deadlock.
Coming back after a lengthy spell sidelined by injury, Shaw found the net in the 115th minute to put her side ahead in the final throes of the game, and they march on to the semi-finals.

SHAW: TOUGH INJURY TIMES
Speaking about her time out with an injury, Shaw said:
It's been really tough, but that makes it all worth it. That's why you go through the hard times, and you stick with it in the gym when you don't want to be in there. You're first in last out every day. It's tough. But that makes it all worth it. I've got the best support network.

SHAW: IT'S ALWAYS MESSY
Asked about what the manager told her, Shaw added:
He just said just try and keep it tidy, play in the pocket, take your time, keep it clean and go and try and score a goal, which I did!

SHAW PAYS TRIBUTE TO TEAMMATES' HARD WORK
Match-winner Zara Shaw paid tribute to her teammates, speaking to TNT Sports after the match.
She said:
I don't know what to say, if I'm honest. For those that have been close to me over the past few seasons, it's been really, really tough. I've gone through things that I didn't think I'd ever have to go through, not once, but twice. Just thank you for all the girls. They've put a shift in today. I'm all over the place right now. Credit to the girls, I couldn't have done it without them.

CHARLTON CAN HOLD THEIR HEADS HIGH
Charlton Athletic will be heartbroken to have lost in the manner that they did, after hanging in there for more than 115 minutes. But there are positives, in that it was a good performance and they defended well. There will be no time to mope, as they march towards the end of the WSL2 season, playing for a chance of promotion.

WHISTLE BLOWS!
That's it, we've reached the end of an Easter epic, as Liverpool beat Charlton in extra time to progress to the semi finals.

CHARLTON NEED TO FIGHT BACK
I think they know that's it, they look like the fight has gone out of them.

GOAL FOR LIVERPOOL
Unbelievable. The saddest of times for Charlton Athletic and the best of times for Shaw who eventually gets it in the net after quite the tussle on the goal-line.
114'
LIVERPOOL BOMBARDMENT CONTINUES
I would feel awful for Charlton (and - full disclosure - myself) if they conceded now. Liverpool are bombarding them, but I really think they have defended superbly, today.
112'
YELLOW CARD FOR WHITEHOUSE
Whitehouse knows what she has to do, but the ref quite rightly takes umbrage with her time wastage as Charlton desperately try to see out the final minutes of the game for a chance to win for penalties.
110'
SCRAPPY TIME!
It really is squeaky bum time for Charlton now as Liverpool press and press, but their finish today has been terrible. The number of chances they've had has been striking. All Charlton have to do is is string this out for another 10 minutes or so.
108'
CREDIT TO CHARLTON
Anita Assante has also enjoyed the home side's efforts today.
It's bodies on the line, last-ditching defending, they're getting cramp all over the place. That's what it means to them, though, that they're willing to put in the hard yards to stay in this competition. Liverpool, for me, have not upped the intensity enough. They are applying pressure, and perhaps could have got a goal if it hadn't been for N'Dow, but you've got to give masses of credit to Charlton.

FINAL 15 MINUTES UNDERWAY
We're starting the second half of added time and Charlton are playing for the lottery of penalties. Fairplay to them, they've done a great job today, I'd say they've earned it.

EXCITING TIMES IN SE7
Rachel Brown-Finnis is rightly singing the praises of N'Dow.
It's getting really exciting now. Last-ditch tackles followed by a corner and a goal-line clearance from N'Dow, who's been outstanding. The ball in from MacLean's excellent, just needs redirecting by Jenna Clark. I want to see her up there more.

HALFTIME WHISTLE
It's going to be a scrappy 15 minutes left to play, as we remain 0-0.
107'
THREE MINUTES STOPPAGE TIME
We're into stoppage time for the first half of extra time. Liverpool are getting stuck in but Charlton are defending their hearts out.

CORNER FOR LIVERPOOL
Liverpool have another corner now after Thomas's effort is sent wide. Charlton defend brilliantly to clear the ball, N'Dow has been impressive today.

SUBSTITUTIONS
For Liverpool, Shaw is coming on for Enderby. She’s been sidelined for a lengthy period due to injury and will no doubt be chomping at the bit to get going.
For Charlton, McAteer comes on to replace Pearse.

CRAMP SETTING IN
The players, probably quite unused to playing games of this length, are starting to suffer and there are a number receiving treatment for what looks like leg cramps.
