Friday at the Esports World Cup 2025 was packed with high-stakes action as Rocket League, Teamfight Tactics, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Tekken 8 all reached critical stages.

Rocket League – Group Stage Finals Set the Playoffs
The Rocket League group stages concluded with thrilling matches across four groups.
In Group A, Karmine Corp edged NRG 3–2, sending NRG to the lower bracket, while FUT Esports narrowly defeated Virtus.pro 3–2 in the lower-bracket semi-final.
Group B featured Dignitas dominating Gen.G Mobil1 Racing 3–0, with Team Secret eliminating Wildcard 3–2.
Group C saw Team Falcons sweep The Ultimates 3–0, and in Group D, Team Vitality beat Twisted Minds 3–0 in the winners' final, while Spacestation Gaming knocked out TSM 3–1 in the lower bracket.
The top two teams from each group now advance to the playoffs.
Teamfight Tactics – Weibo Gaming Claims Championship
The TFT Gauntlet playoffs wrapped up with intense semi-final and final matches. Korea's T1 upset Virtus.pro 2–0, while Weibo Gaming narrowly defeated AEGIS 2–1.
WBG then dominated Virtus.pro 3–1 in the grand final to claim the $150,000 championship.
Virtus.pro finished as runner-up, while T1 and AEGIS earned valuable experience and EWC points.
PUBG: Battlegrounds – Grand Finals Begin
The first day of PUBG: Battlegrounds Grand Finals saw six matches that shook up the leaderboard.
Virtus.pro claimed the top spot with 52 points, followed closely by ROC Esports with 46 and Game Start Win (GSW) with 45 points.
Twisted Minds sits fourth with 43. Virtus.pro's consistent placements and strong eliminations have them in pole position, while ROC and GSW remain strong contenders for the weekend finals.
Tekken 8 – Group Stage Concludes
Tekken 8's second phase of double-elimination round-robin groups concluded on Friday.
The top two from each group advanced to the knockout bracket: Group A – CBM and Chikurin, Group B – PINYA and Rangchu, Group C – Qudans and kkokkoma, Group D – LowHigh and Mulgold.
These eight players now prepare for the final knockout stage, which starts on Saturday, promising high-level battles for the $1 million prize pool.
