Street Fighter 6
Street Fighter 6 is bringing the fighting game community together with a substantial $1 million up for grabs.
The groups have been revealed, with 48 of the world’s finest fighters battling for glory. The winner will walk away with $250,000 and secure their spot at Capcom Cup 12.
Daigo Umehara, arguably the most recognisable name in competitive fighting games, stumbled in the Last Chance Qualifier, meaning Hajime "Tokido" Taniguchi entered the group stage in Riyadh.
Tokido faces an uphill battle in a group stacked with talent, including fellow Japanese competitors YHC-Mochi and Hikaru Nakatani, plus US contender Alan "Nephew" Sun.
Counter-Strike 2
Counter-Strike 2 will close out the Esports World Cup this week. Sixteen of the world’s best teams compete for $1,250,000 - with no group stage or double elimination, just straight knockout rounds.
Teams earned their spots through June’s global Valve Rankings, with one exception. TYLOO, the Asian Champions League winners, claimed the 16th spot despite ranking 18th at qualification time. The Chinese squad has since surged to 10th globally, proving they belong among the elite.
Currently ranked 6th, FURIA’s rise pushed Virtus.pro down the rankings, making them the only EWC team currently outside the world’s top 16.
As the final tournaments unfold in Riyadh, the stage is set for an unforgettable finale with no room for error.
