The 28-year-old Scot, who used to ride for French team cofidis, was given a two-year suspension by the UCI in 2004 following the discovery of syringes at his home in Biarritz. Millar subsequently admitted to using the banned blood booster EPO.
With a number of teams reportedly interested in signing the rider - such as QuickStep, Illes Balears and Liberty Seguros - Millar says he's keen to return to the sport.
"I've been training very hard and I hope to make a successful return to racing in 2006," he said.
Millar's two-year ban ends on the 23 June 2006, just nine days before the Tour de France. That would give Miller a chance to prove his form in the British road race championship on 25 June before July's Grande Boucle.
"We've been interested in Millar since before the Tour de France," added Gianetti. "Now we are very confident."
Saunier Duval have also announced their interest in snapping up the new under-23 road race champion - and time trial silver medallist - Dmytro Grabovskyy.
The 19-year-old Ukrainian has been in touch with the team for quite some time and even used Saunier's Andrea Tafi's bike during his golden performance in Madrid.
