Welcome to the stage 13 coverage of the Vuelta a Espana, as the cyclists make their way from Rincon de Soto to Burgos.

Hushovd comes behind Cavendish and Daniele Bennati comesin third.

Another stage claimed for Mark Cavendish.

The pack catches Terpsta, and Quick Step look determined to claim this stage.

Terpstra is leading the peloton now by about five seconds as the rest of the breakaway are caught.

Terpstra is now motoring out in front as he decides to leave the escapees and power on by himself. It looks set to be a very close finish with under 10 seconds of a gap.

Just like yesterday, the Garmin team is really working hard in the final stages. The gap is only 17 seconds now.

The front runners are helping eachother out in an attempt to hold off the pack as we reach the final 10km with a 43 second gap.

We head into the final stretch of the race. With just 13km remaining, the peloton have reduced the differance to just 49 seconds.

The escapees are holding out with a lead that stands at 1:07, but the clock is always counting away.

Niki Terpstra wins the second intermediate sprint ahead of Denis Galimzyanov and Olivier Kaisen.

Alexandr Kolobnev requires medical attention.

HTC-Columbia riders are working hard to close the gap, which currently stands at 1:39.

1:54 as they head towards the final sprint of the day at Villasur de Herreros.

1:56 is the gap now, not much of a differance as they pass through Alarcia.

The front runners reach the summit of the Alto de Valmala, and it will be virtually a down hill race from here on in.

1:58 as the cyclists battle agains the 5% gradient along a 4km stretch.

Garmin and Quick Step are leading the peloton and the gap is 2:16 as they near the second climb of the day: the Alto de Valmala.

The peloton have cut the lead by over a minute as they ride through Pradoluengo. The advantage is 2:46.

Christophe le Mevel has also suffered a flat tyre.
