The German rider does not suffer from any fracture, confirmed his team.
"I feel better than I expected," the 1997 Tour winner said before Monday's hospital exams. He left the clinic to return to the team hotel and take part in the squad's rest day training run.
"I fell hard, tumbling three or four times following a gust of wind in the peloton," Ullrich explained at the conclusion of Sunday's stage in Mulhouse.
"I'm suffering on the right side but I can breathe fine," said Ullrich who stands 3'54" behind compatriot Jens Voigt (CSC) who conquered the yellow jersey Sunday.
