England star Ahmed's four wickets was one of the few positives for the visitors on day two.
He believes Pakistan have the momentum, but that England can still win the match.
"The momentum is obviously with them," Ahmed said. "We are not going to hold back from saying we are still going to win this game.
"We still can and I think we have got a lot of batting to come. Everyone can bat in our team. Obviously it is not nice being three down now, but I don't think that changes too much for us.
"I think we did what we could, and now we are just looking forward to tomorrow."
