Coles, 22, was the most expensive player at this year's Hundred auction as he was bought by London Spirit for ÂŁ390,000.
He is part of the 17-man England squad that also includes Jordan Cox, Sonny Baker and Saqib Mahmood, with Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton unavailable due to injury.
Six members of the squad are playing in England's third Test against New Zealand, which is scheduled to finish two days before the five-match T20I series against India starts on July 1.

England men’s national selector, Marcus North, said: ”James Coles is an exciting addition and has earned his place following his performances with the England Lions and in T20 competitions here and abroad during the past 12 months.
”We have selected a larger squad to accommodate for the fact that this series will begin shortly after the Test series against New Zealand is due to conclude which allows us to be flexible.”
The opening match of the series takes place in Durham before moving to Manchester (July 4), Nottingham (July 7), Bristol (July 9), and Southampton (July 11).
England and India met in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup earlier this year, with India winning by seven runs.
India will be captained by Shreyas Iyer for the series against England, with 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the squad for the first time.
Sooryavanshi starred in the Indian Premier League, winning the Most Valuable Player award after scoring 776 runs at a strike-rate of 237.30, and at the weekend smashed the fastest List A 50 - off 11 balls in India A's clash with Sri Lanka A.
