Shaw added: ”I’ve been thinking about this (Gold medal) every single day. Last year, I pulled out of the World Championships and it was all for this. I’m so happy.
”I was nervous. It’s Championship racing, it’s not about times it’s about who crosses the line first. I had to work that race, it definitely wasn’t the perfect race at all, but all the hard work comes off.
”I’ve worked so hard this past year, I’m so happy.”
