Bethany Firth was a multiple Paralympic champion prior to missing Paris 2024 to have her daughter, Charlotte.
The Northern Irish swimmer is back at it now after a tough journey and secured Bronze in the 200m Freestyle S14 final.
Speaking alongside her daughter, she told the CWG official website: ”There needs to be more support (for mum’s) but I’m lucky to have a great family who helped me to this point.
”I want her (Charlotte) to know, ‘never give up’ because there are times when I’ve thought, ‘is it worth it?’ But I didn’t stop and I want her to know that mummy never gave up and this medal is totally for her.”

RAMSAY-PEATY CONTENT BUT UNSURE OF WHAT COMES NEXT AFTER BRONZE
The 31-year-old spoke to TNT Sports just moments after coming out of the pool following his third-placed finish in the 100m breaststroke and was asked where his head is currently at.
”I’m not sure. I’m not too fussed about the performance because I really enjoyed it. I think there’s obviously something going wrong in terms of the data, obviously I’ve got to debrief….," he said.
”Obviously, very happy to race Filip (Nowacki), getting third place is still a privilege – but I’m still happy and that’s where I am and a medal can’t prove that or take that away from me.”
Asked to reflect on his journey 12 years since the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014, he said: ”You have to go through highs and lows in this sport. I’ll have to really think about the 100(m) because it requires a lot of work, a lot of work. And to even get near where I was, it’s going to require absolutely everything, finding the right formula when I’m going to be a father of two. I don’t think so, I’ve really got to just think on that and see where my family is. They are important to training and the sport and it’s too early to figure it all out.”

Ramsay-Peaty was joined by Silver-medallist Filip Nowacki.
”That was absolutely electric,” said the 18-year-old from Jersey.
”The standard here is so amazing. I touched on it yesterday, it’s just so compact and so inside and captured in, it’s amazing.”
Asked if he has learnt a lot from Ramsay-Peaty, he added: ”Yeah, I have. Adam started out here 12 years ago and I’ve watched him through the sport in Rio and Tokyo and Paris, so it’s a true privilege to race him; inspiring the younger generation and I was the one being inspired, so now to be on the other side is truly special to me.”

It’s not be a 33rd major Gold medal for the swimming superstar from Uttoxeter as he comes up short in the men’s 100m breaststroke title.
