Barcelona's winning streak came to an end on Thursday when they fell to Cibona VIP 95-77 in Zagreb. As of now there are no unbeaten teams in this year's Euroleague. Also in group A Benetton romped to a 95-80 victory over Skipper Bologna.
EUROLEAGUE: Standings and fixtures
Cibona's victory included 21 points from Niksa Prkacin and 20 from Slaven Rimac. Cibona displayed a near perfect attack that Barcelona was not able to handle falling in the score 13-0 before sinking in their first basket. A deficit that proved to be decisive as the tournament favourites were never able to comeback on the score.
In group B in the only match of the evening, defending champions Panathinaikos, led by Ibrahim Kutluay who scored 8 of his 15 points in the last quarter outplayed Unicaja 77-65. Unicaja's defensive game was the key to their defeat while Panathiniakos took advantage of the lack of consistency of the Malaga team to have a rather relaxed match where pressure was needed only in the last minutes to destabilise the Spanish side.
In group C, Partian Mobtel finally managed to score a win at home, after four attempts, over Adecco Asvel 79-71. Euroleague's leading scorer Milos Vujanic did it again summing up 28 points.
Melvin Booker led Ulker of Istanbul to victory scoring 14 of the last 15 points of the match. The 84-93 win over Idea Slask was the only road win of the night. Booker, Joe Blair and Virginius Praskevicus finished with 20 points each for Ulker.
