Simone Biles won her 11th Olympic medal with silver in the final of the women's floor competition in Paris. After missing out on a podium place in the beam event, Biles was desperate to end the Games on a high with a big performance in the final gymnastics competition of Paris 2024. Biles' rival Rebeca Andrade took gold.

Simone Biles won silver in the floor gymnastics event at Paris 2024, with Brazil's Rebeca Andrade crowned the Olympic champion.
After missing out on a medal in the women’s balance beam final, Biles returned to the Bercy Arena for the last gymnastics final of Paris 2024.
That led to an even more fiercely determined Biles taking to the floor in an attempt to win her fourth gold of the Games and her 11th all-time Olympic medal.
Manila Esposito - who won bronze on the beam - got the competition underway but, after stuttering out of the area from a double pike, a score of 12.133 was always unlikely to challenge.
That was made especially clear when Rebeca Andrade stepped up to deliver an outstanding routine packed with difficulty and executed impressively to score 14.166.

China’s Ou Yushan (13.000) and Japan’s Rina Kishi (13.166) both stuttered during their routines but scored solidly.
Nine gymnasts competed in the final - as opposed to the usual eight - which was due to Kishi’s qualifying score being the same as Romania’s Ana Barbosu, who bettered Kishi this time with a score of 13.700.
Newly crowned beam champion Alice D’Amato (13.600) was next on the floor, before Biles attacked the arena with a powerful routine packed with her signature tumbles.
From triple twisting double back somersaults to double straights with half turn, Biles pushed hard but, ultimately, with a score of 14.133 it was not enough.
Romania’s Sabrina Maneca-Voinea (13.700) failed to challenge for a medal, which left Jordan Chiles with the chance, as the last gymnast up, to disrupt the podium places.
