Garbine Muguruza sets up Jelena Ostapenko clash at Wuhan Open in China

World number one Garbine Muguruza overcame a second-set slip to beat Magda Linette 6-2 1-6 6-4 at the Wuhan Open in China.

The Spaniard will face Jelena Ostapenko in the quarters after the eighth seed defeated Monica Puig in three sets, winning the first and final sets for a 6-2 3-6 6-3 victory.

Karolina Pliskova also qualified for the fourth round after racing past Wang Qiang of China.

Elsewhere, Caroline Garcia proved too strong for seventh seed Dominika Cibulkova, winning 6-3 7-5, while ninth seed Agnieszka Radwanska fell to Australia's Ashleigh Barty 4-6 6-0 6-4.
