The sixth seeded Morigami dominated the first set in less than 30 minutes winning six straight games from the tournament's top seed.
The Frenchwoman underwent treatment for a nagging injury in between the first and second set, but could not overcome Morigami, who broke her in the fifth game of the second set to setup the victory.
"It's very unfortunate for Marion, she didn't play her game due to her injury," said the 27-year-old Morigami. "As for me, I have waited nine years for this day."
Morigami's previous best finish was a finals appearance at the 2005 Cininnati Open.
