Emma Raducanu has not given advice to fellow British players at Wimbledon ahead of 'dangerous' Mimi Xu showdown - 'It's weird'

There will be plenty of support for British No. 1 Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon, as she looks to go beyond the fourth round in her home Grand Slam for the first time. Several young Brits are also competing in the tournament for the first time, including Raducanu's first-round opponent Mingge Xu. But Raducanu said she has not offered any words of advice to her compatriots.

Emma Raducanu has revealed she has not given any advice to other young British stars set to compete at Wimbledon.
The 22-year-old will play in her home Grand Slam for the fourth time this year, with her opening match against Welsh teenager Mingge Xu.
Once a precocious teenage talent herself, Raducanu said she does not yet feel in a position to guide her younger compatriots, including Hannah Klugman and Mika Stojsavljevic, who were both awarded wildcards.
"I haven't really given advice. It's weird. I don't really see myself in that sort of light to be giving advice," she told the Daily Express.
"But I remember how it feels, for sure. I think that I'm still trying to figure things out, I'm still trying to learn and go through this journey.
"They haven't come to me with any questions. I guess if any of them ever did, I'll try and tell them what I know. But it's probably not much."
Raducanu, who is aiming to go beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time, acknowledged the challenge of facing 17-year-old Xu in her Wimbledon opener.

"I think it's a very dangerous match, very difficult," she said. "I think Mimi is a really, really good player. I practised with her a few times.
"A lot of weapons. Also moves really well. It's going to be a really different match.
"For her, it's one where there's nothing to lose. I remember when I had my first Wimbledon here and I was 18. It's a great feeling. You just feel, like, completely fearless.
"So I think for me it's going to be a challenge, but one that I'm looking forward to and I'm ready for."
Raducanu will begin Wimbledon as the British No. 1, three places above Katie Boulter in the WTA rankings.
"It's a great honour to be British No. 1," she added. "It's been a long time, but Katie is hot on my heels, a couple places behind me.
"I know she's such a great grass-court player, such a great player in general that it's going to be a really difficult battle for 1, 2 in the next few months, the rest of the season.
"For us, we have a really healthy, good relationship. I think it's nice to have, but it isn't everything to me."
