The top seed stamped his authority on proceedings from the outset as Mannarino did not manage to muster a single game.
The 22nd seed, humbled by the opening-set bagel, did manage to put up a much sterner challenge in the second, taking it to 5-5.
But Federer again stepped up when it mattered, breaking serve to take the set 7-5 and re-assert his dominance.
The Frenchman was not embarrassed in the third set either as Federer settled for a single break of serve to close out the match.
The legendary Swiss, eyeing a ninth title at SW19, will now await the winner of either eighth seed Kevin Anderson and Gael Monfils.
Federer remains unbroken in the tournament in reaching the last eight and has a very kind draw through to the showpiece final.
