A quietly impressive Angelique Kerber continued her campaign in the US Open, beating American Ann Li 6-3, 6-4.
The German moves into the fourth round at Flushing Meadows for the first time since 2016 - when she won the title.
She has not yet dropped a single set this tournament.
Next up she will face Jennifer Brady, who beat Caroline Garcia, 6-3, 6-3.
Li can take great reassurance from her own display, hitting 36 winners compared to 28 unforced errors.
"She played pretty well - I mean, especially her forehand," Kerber said of Li afterwards.
"It was really a tough forehand also to return, and she hits the ball really fast and with a lot of spin.
"I need a little bit time to find my rhythm and to also know what to expect, because I had no idea what really to expect - but she played really well. I think it was a good match, again. And, you know, for me, it was important to stay in the match, especially in the second set to be mental strong and fight for every single point, especially at the end."
