Novak Djokovic storms to first set against Juan Martin Del Potro

Novak Djokovic took just 42 minutes to win the opening set of the US Open final, taking it 6-3 against Juan Martin Del Potro.

Djokovic immediately looked in electric form as he powered through his opening service games with Del Potro unable to make an impact.
The sixth seed then broke at a crucial point in the business end of the set as he assumed a 5-3 lead as the Argentine wavered on serve.

The Serb was then able to serve out for the opening set and stamp his authority on the showpiece match in New York.
Del Potro, the 2009 champion, will now need to up his level to force his way back into the match.
