Bad weather postpones women’s semi-finals, moved to Friday

Heavy rain in New York has forced the women's semi-finals of the US Open to be moved from Thursday to Friday.

World number one and top seed Serena Williams was due to face Italy's Roberta Vinci, with second seed Simona Halep set to meet Flavia Pennetta at Flushing Meadows.
Both the men's and women's semi-finals will now be played on Friday.
With the women's semis now pencilled in for a 16:00 BST start, the men's semis have been pushed back to 20:00 BST.
Marin Cilic is looking to defend his title against top seed Novak Djokovic, while Roger Federer is in action against Swiss compatriot Stan Wawrinka.
