India's Paes, who won the mixed doubles with Martina Navratilova at the All England Club last month, went to a local hospital near his home in Florida on Sunday after suffering severe headaches, the Anderson Centre said on its website. A lesion in the left occipital region of Paes's brain was discovered following a CT scan and an MRI.
Doctors transferred Paes on Tuesday to the Anderson Center, where tests are being conducted to determine the specific cause of the lesion.
The results are expected within a few days. A brain tumour has not been ruled out.
