Jannik Sinner called Novak Djokovic the best tennis player of all time after defeating the 24-time Grand Slam winner 6-4 7-5 7-6(3) to book his place in the final of the 2025 French Open.
The world No. 1 produced a ruthless display to dispatch his Serbian opponent and set up a mouth-watering match with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday.
Djokovic will now go back to the drawing board as he looks to win his first Grand Slam since his 2023 US Open triumph.
Sinner admitted that it is always difficult to prepare for a match against the greatest of all time after securing the victory.
"It is very difficult, he has achieved so many things," said three-time Grand Slam winner Sinner. "He is the best player in the history of our sport.
"Playing against him here is amazing.

"Of course, I try not to think about that, but before going on court you feel the tension and you feel what is coming against you.
"I always try to prepare myself in the best possible way and try to be ready for every situation on the court.
"I am very happy with how we did that today."
This was the ninth time that Djokovic and Sinner had gone head-to-head on the ATP Tour, with the two players evenly matched at four wins a piece ahead of the clash.
It was also the third time that the pair had met in a Grand Slam semi-final, and Sinner admitted that it means a lot to face Djokovic on such an iconic stage.
"First of all thank you so much for coming and supporting us, me and Novak, that is why we love to [play]," he added.

"It was such a special occasion for me, playing against Novak in the semi-final of a Grand Slam, it is just amazing.
"I had to step up and play the best tennis I could.
"I am very happy with how I handled the situations but it shows again what a role model he is for all of us young players. Playing tennis and seeing what he is doing is incredible.
"I wish him only the best for the rest of the season and I think we are all very lucky to see him playing such a high level of tennis.
"It is amazing."
Sinner believes that he is now in for a tough match against Alcaraz, who has beaten him in all of their last four meetings.
"Sunday is going to be very difficult," he continued. "I know that, my head-to-heads don't look great lately against Carlos. So let's see what I can do.
"I am very happy to be here in the final, we will see what I can do."
