Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton were involved in one of the best points of the 2025 French Open so far during their fourth-round clash on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
The world No. 2 came out on top after a thrilling back-and-forth with his opponent, but Shelton played his part too, producing two sublime shots to push the Spaniard to the limit.
The point took place during a dramatic tie-break at the end of the opening set, with Alcaraz's victory cutting Shelton's lead to 5-4.
The defending French Open champion went on to win the opener 7-6(8) and TNT Sports commentator Mats Wilander believes the exchange will be remembered as the best of the tournament.
"That is going to be the point of the tournament," Wilander said. "That drop shot [from Shelton] was absolutely brilliant and then this little shot with the backhand slice [from Alcaraz] was great.
"This get here, I don't know how [Shelton] got that back because Alcaraz hit it behind him and then look at this, just on the line [from Alcaraz]. Wow."

Alcaraz is hoping to retain his French Open crown and claim the fifth Grand Slam of his career.
In contrast, 22-year-old Shelton is still in the hunt for his first victory at one of tennis' four most iconic tournaments.
Wilander's fellow TNT Sports commentator Nick Mullins acknowledges how close Alcaraz's rally-winning shot was to being out.
"Oh [the shot] was just on the line as a tumbling Shelton got back to his feet to watch," Mullins said. "The mini-break has been retrieved. What a point."
