Emma Raducanu is among a number of Grand Slam champions absent from the wild card list for the French Open, which begins next week in Paris. The Briton has reportedly pulled out of a WTA 500 event in Strasbourg that she was scheduled to compete in, which may be to ensure she is free to play in qualifying for Roland-Garros. Dominic Thiem and Simona Halep are also absent from the wild card list.

Osaka 'a lot more confident' heading to Roland-Garros after Italian Open efforts

The French Open has released its list of wild card recipients for the upcoming 2024 edition, with some high-profile names missing out.
Emma Raducanu is one of multiple Grand Slam winners absent from the list, with Dominic Thiem, Caroline Wozniacki and Simona Halep also absent.
Raducanu has reportedly pulled out of next week's WTA 500 event in Strasbourg, which takes place in the same week as qualifying for the French Open, in a sign that may indicate the Brit is readying herself for the qualifying event.
Fellow US Open winner Thiem was also absent from the list.
The 30-year-old Austrian recently announced his retirement from tennis at the end of 2024 after an injury-hit few years due to a wrist injury he suffered in 2021.
Thiem reached the French Open final in 2018 and 2019, but won't receive a wild card from the tournament in his farewell season.
Halep, who won the French Open in 2018, did not receive one either after her return to the WTA Tour.
Halep is scheduled to return to clay for the first time in over two years this week as she competes at the Trophee Clarins on the WTA 125 circuit, a tournament for which she was given a wild card.
Richard Gasquet and Ajla Tomljanovic are among those who do feature on the wild card list.
