SWIATEK 6-4 5-2 GAUFF
Iga moves to within sight of the last four. The Pole notches winners 16 and 17 on her way to a game to 15 as Coco’s unforced error count rises to 22. She’s just missed too many opportunities on big points otherwise it could have been VERY interesting out there.

BREAK! – SWIATEK 6-4 4-2 GAUFF
A smart lob which takes into account the direction of the wind is just too good as Swiatek secures the first break of Set 2 on the first of two opportunities after Coco’s wild backhand that missed the tramlines had cough up two BPs.

SWIATEK 6-4 3-2 GAUFF
Iga edges her nose in front as a pair of loose errors from Gauff finish off a game to 15 that could have turned tricky if the American had landed a lob at 15-15.

SWIATEK 6-4 2-2 GAUFF
Coco shrugs off the disappointment of failing to break with a one-minute and 15 second hold to love that she polishes off with her second ace of the match.
The American looks the better player at the moment but she hasn’t been able to reflect her momentum on the scoreboard.

SWIATEK 6-4 2-1 GAUFF
The World No.1 is highly unlikely to be opening up the bakery today. Coco Gauff fancies an upset instead, but she is going to need to take these sort of chances if she’s to turn the tide here.
The No.6 seed blows a simple lob long that would have earned triple break point and then fizzes a return a millimetre beyond the baseline to miss out on two break points.
A third BP arrives when Coco smashes a volley straight at the Pole, who takes no offence, staves it off and plays her get-out-of-jail-free card to somehow grit out the hold from deuce.

SWIATEK 6-4 1-1 GAUFF
That is sparkling tennis from Coco as she turns defence into attack at 30-15 with a barrage of sweet crosscourt backhands before gliding on to the board with a wide ace.

SWIATEK 6-4 1-0 GAUFF
Swiatek looks far more settled with that first set under her belt which could spell bad news for Gauff fans.
The Pole sizzles a trio of winners as she hits the front with a game to 30.

SET! - SWIATEK 6-4 GAUFF
It’s a bit of a capitulation and a sad way for Coco to hand over the opener after really giving the World No.1 plenty to think about for large parts of it.
The forehand misfires to offer triple set point and the Pole slaps away a crosscourt forehand winner to break and take Set 1 in 47 minutes.

SWIATEK 5-4 GAUFF
Gauff continues to cause Swiatek more problems than in the entirety of last year’s final but Iga hits clutch mode from 15-30, thundering away a 10th winner on her way to a hold that applies some serious scoreboard pressure.

SWIATEK 4-4 GAUFF
The big names from across the sporting world continue to turn up to enjoy the tennis at Roland Garros, with former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spotted enjoying a wonderful winner down the line from Swiatek.
It's a rare moment in this particular game as both players endure some near misses, but Gauff digs deep to stave off break point with a blistering winner and a clever serve to force the error long.

SWIATEK 4-3 GAUFF
That’s more wild than the wind! Coco produces outstanding defence to turn defence into attack before racing to her right and lashing a shocking forecourt forehand into the tramlines with the court gaping.
Swiatek duly mops up the next point to clock up a love hold and get back on track.

SWIATEK 3-3 GAUFF
Coco somehow drills a drive volley into the tramlines from close-in to trail 0-30. It’s windy out there but she’ll still be disappointed with that.
The teenager reacts well with two fine body serves and then finds another clutch first serve – her fastest of the match so far – to take control from deuce before another very bad miss from Iga ties the match.
