Injury brings Jack Draper's 2026 season to an end after spell with coach Andy Murray - 'Tennis is my purpose and passion'

Jack Draper will not play tennis for the remainder of 2026, the British star announced in a social media post on Tuesday. The 24-year-old has endured a difficult season, playing just 15 ATP Tour matches and missing all four Grand Slams owing to injury.

Draper did not take part in the US Open earlier this month because of a bone bruise on his left arm.
The former world No. 4, who was being coached by Andy Murray, revealed that he was battling fatigue after being forced to overcome so many injury setbacks.
"Don't usually love lots of words on here but I wanted to update you that I am aiming to return to the tour at the start of 2027," Draper stated in a post on Instagram.
"Last summer all the dedication and work I had put into this sport was coming together. It was all going my way and the path seemed so clear.
"However a complicated injury made things incredibly challenging and since that moment I've been desperately trying to get back and feel as I once did on the court.
"Managing so much change, adversity and pain has helped me to grow massively in many areas of my life but has also made me feel a level of fatigue."
Draper's most recent Grand Slam appearance came at the 2025 US Open, where he was forced to withdraw in the second round after suffering an arm injury.
The Brit insists he wants to be at full health when he returns to the court next year.
"I am taking this time to reset and heal, so when I return I am 100% ready to go," he added.

"Tennis is my purpose and passion and so when I step back on court, I want to make sure that there’s nothing holding me back from where I want to go and achieve the things I know I’m capable of.
"I really appreciate all the continued support from my sponsors, team and people who enjoy following my tennis and I look forward to being back on court to give it my all next year!"
Draper's best performance in a Grand Slam came in 2024, when he reached the semi-finals of the US Open.
