Holger Rune and Patrick Mouratoglou have parted ways again, ending their second spell together after five months. Rune will continue to work with Kenneth Carlsen, and is currently looking to work his way back to fitness after missing this summer's Olympic Games with a wrist injury. The decision was said to be made mutually and amicably, and Rune spoke of his friendship with Mouratoglou.

Holger Rune has separated from coach Patrick Mouratoglou for a second time, claiming the split will be mutually beneficial.
The pair reunited for a second stint together in February 2024, but they have agreed to an amicable parting of ways again just five months later.
Rune has had a difficult campaign, with the latest setback seeing the 21-year-old miss the Paris 2024 Olympic Games due to a wrist injury.
He has yet to progress past the fourth round in the three Grand Slams so far this year, after losing at that stage against Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon respectively.
The Dane also suffered a second-round Australian Open exit at the hands of Arthur Cazau, before his reunion with Mouratoglou.
In a post on Instagram, Mouratoglou said: “Holger and I have decided to part ways.
“This decision was reached mutually, as we believe Holger would benefit from a different approach in his set-up right now.
“Wishing Holger all the best in his future endeavours.”
Rune and Mouratoglou first worked together between October 2022 and April 2023. The Frenchman helped Rune grow his reputation as one of the sport's next biggest stars.
Arguably the highlight of their first spell working together came when Rune won his first ATP Masters 1000 title with a stunning win over Djokovic.
While their second spell together has not been as successful, Rune still secured quarter-final appearances in the ATP Masters 1000 clay tournaments at Indian Wells and Monte-Carlo.

Rune paid tribute to his “great friend” and said that he will continue working with coach Kenneth Carlsen.
Speaking after their second split, Rune said on Instagram: “I have had some good talks with Patrick, and we mutually decided to part ways. He will always be a great friend, but for now, the best set-up for me is to continue with Kenneth who will be present at all practices and tournaments. Nothing changes in my relation to Mouratoglou academy who always have been very helpful to me. I am looking forward to being healthy and back on track again.”
