Eighth seed Timea Bacsinszky battled into the third round of the French Open in a bizarre match against Eugenie Bouchard whose 6-4 6-4 scoreline barely tells a fraction of the story.

Bouchard raced into a 3-0 lead at one point in the first set, but soon after collapsed for almost an hour as Bacsinzky reeled off 10 games in a row to take the first set and lead 5-0 in the second.
Extraordinarily, Bouchard fought back from the brink, winning the next four games to get it to 5-4.
She then held two break points at 15-40 on the Swiss player's serve, only for a forehand to go barely two inches long and take the game to deuce.
Bouchard - a semi-finalist at Roland Garros two years ago - was unable to keep up the pressure, and former waitress Bacsinzky wrapped up an extraordinary match 6-4 6-4.
