Emma Raducanu acknowledged coming back from 5-0 down in the first set to win was a new experience as she pulled off a sensational comeback against Kaja Juvan to advance to the quarter-finals of the Transylvania Open. It means Raducanu's apparent resurgence continues since splitting with coach Francisco Roig as she chases her first title since winning the 2021 US Open.

Emma Raducanu said her comeback from 5-0 down in the first set to advance to the quarter-finals of the Transylvania Open was "a first to add to the experience".
Top seed Raducanu won 11 straight games to come back and beat Kaja Juvan 7-5 6-1 in Cluj, Romania and will face Maja Chwalinska in the quarter-finals.
It is Raducanu’s second match since splitting with her coach Francisco Roig and she could have as little as 19 hours' rest before she returns to centre court as early as 16:00 local time on Thursday - though she can count on a partisan crowd, supporting the half-Romanian star whose father Ion Raducanu was born in Bucharest.
"I do not think I have ever come back from 5-0 down before so that is a first to add to the experience, thank you for staying and waiting so long, it means a lot," Raducanu said after the victory.
"Thank you for the support, it really got me through some tricky moments in that first set. Kaja was playing some great tennis, was putting me on the back foot straight away and I thought I was being aggressive, going for my shots.
"I was missing and not executing but at least I could say that I was kind of trying to play on my terms, that was the goal for me.

"[I am] Going to try and recover straight away, there is not much time to turn over but hopefully the schedule is kind to me and I can find some energy and try for you. I will see you out there supporting and that gives me a lot of energy."
It is a rare chance of silverware for Raducanu as the 2021 US Open remains her only senior title and she has not reached a final since that night at Flushing Meadows with her only other final appearance coming a month before in the WTA 125-level Chicago Challenger tournament.
She lost that day to Clara Tauson at a level below the WTA 250 Transylvania Open which offers such a golden opportunity for the 23-year-old to snap her long drought.
Raducanu’s triumph capped a good day for Britain’s women on the WTA Tour as Katie Boulter advanced to the quarter-finals of the Ostrava Open with a 6-2 6-2 win over Viktorija Golubic and Sonay Kartal went one better at the Abu Dhabi Open, only dropping three games against lucky loser Renata Zarazua.
