GAME, SET AND MATCH!  - SINNER 7-6 6-2 GRIEKSPOOR
Jannik Sinner clinches yet another singles victory in 2024 to lead Italy to back-to-back Davis Cup titles.
The World No.1 concludes his stellar year with yet more silverware as he serves it out on his fourth match point from deuce - tallying 15 aces along the way - to secure a straight sets success over Griekspoor.
The Italians were overwhelming favourites and made short work of this final courtesy of Sinner and Matteo Berrettini, with the Netherlands well beaten on their first ever appearance in the final.

BREAK! – SINNER 7-6 5-2 GRIEKSPOOR
It is surely all over.
Griekspoor’s focus has gone and he bookends another break of his serve with a wild backhand and miscued forehand that both fly off the island.
Sinner has the insurance and will now serve for the win - and another Davis Cup title for Italy.

SINNER 7-6 4-2 GRIEKSPOOR
This time Jannik makes no mistake as Italy’s main man backs up the break with two more aces and a clean hold.

BREAK! – SINNER 7-6 3-2 GRIEKSPOOR
A quite sumptuous stun, half volley epitomises how much Griekspoor is suddenly red-lining – but it doesn’t last for long.
An ace puts him on the cusp of the hold at 40-15 but a double fault piques Sinner’s interest and the pure power of the Italian’s forehand forces the error for deuce.
A lung-busting rally ensues with Tallon going too big on a forehand to offer up another break point.
A replica exchange follows but this time it’s Jannik who drills a forehand just long.
The pressure tells, however, as another miscue leads to a second BP with the World No.40 double faulting to hand over his serve again.

BREAK! – SINNER 7-6 2-2 GRIEKSPOOR
Wow! What a response from Tallon Griekspoor.
Everyone was expecting Sinner to consolidate and move closer to the finish line, but a double fault gifts the Dutchman a bit of hope and then he produces a stunning moment of magic with a backhand pass on the run to up the ante.
Sinner seems a touch flustered when he booms a massive forehand way long to cough up two break points and he’s undone on the first as Tallon replicates the crosscourt backhand pass to drag himself back into contention.

BREAK! – SINNER 7-6 2-1 GRIEKSPOOR
There’s an understated clench of the fist from Sinner as he secures the first break of the match!
Griekspoor comes up clutch on the first serve down the T and out wide to level at 30-30 from 0-30 down, but then sees a crosscourt backhand clip the tape and fly out.
This time the Dutchman can’t find the big serve and when Sinner digs in during the baseline exchange, Tallon buckles with a tame strike into the net.

SINNER 7-6 1-1 GRIEKSPOOR
Tallon pushed Carlos Alcaraz to a tie-break on Tuesday night and also came up short in the breaker.
How will he react here?
Well, it’s a good response as a delightful inside-out forehand winner leads the way to a ruthless love hold.
Sinner responds in-kind and Set 2 is up and running with very little drama to write home about.

SET! - SINNER 7-6 GRIEKSPOOR
Italy are one set away from retaining the Davis Cup.
Sinner secures the insurance mini break with a bewitching crosscourt dropper and it’s too far back for Tallon as the World No.1 claims the breaker by a 7-2 scoreline.

TIE-BREAK LATEST: SINNER 4-2 GRIEKSPOOR
Sinner gets off to a flyer when he lands an ace and then sees his opponent hand him a gift of a mini break with a cheap backhand misfire that lands wide.
The Italian stands firm from there and has the advantage at the change of ends.
17:43
SINNER 6-6 GRIEKSPOOR
Tallon seems distracted by something at 15-15 and it’s not the time to lose focus.
An ace at 15-15 puts him back in the box seat, but he floats a pick-up wide after a lovely cat and mouse point in and around the net.
The Dutchman rushes the error with a dart forward at 30-30 and then zaps down his second ace of the game top secure a spot in the breaker.
17:38
SINNER 6-5 GRIEKSPOOR
Jannik drops the opening point on serve but quickly wrestles the momentum back his way before aces 10 and 11 clinch a game to 15 and guarantee him the minimum of a tie break.
17:36
SINNER 5-5 GRIEKSPOOR
The first serve has been so impressive for Tallon throughout his week in Malaga and it has just got better and better.
The forehand has also done plenty of damage and when that all that doesn’t work there’s some finesse at the net to admire too.
It all contributes to a delightful love hold for the underdog as he continues to go toe-to-toe with the World No.1.

17:32
SINNER 5-4 GRIEKSPOOR
Sinner takes charge with a ninth ace of the day, but Griekspoor makes things interesting with a sizzling backhand pass down the line for 40-30.
The Dutchman’s forehand can’t match such heroics, however, and Jannik tucks the hold in his back pocket to apply significant pressure on the board.
17:28
SINNER 4-4 GRIEKSPOOR
A third ace puts Tallon in cruise-control at 40-0 but the first double fault of this singles rubber almost gives Jannik a glimmer of hope.
The Italian presses to 40-30 with a sharp second-serve return that forces a backhand error into the net, but Griekspoor avoids deuce with the first serve firing him over a mini hurdle.
17:23
SINNER 4-3 GRIEKSPOOR
Sinner takes his Ace tally to eight overall with three more making this latest service game a formality.

SINNER 3-3 GRIEKSPOOR
Tallon is still purring on serve.
The World No.40 has maintained his rhythm from the semi final and it’s even led to Sinner dropping deeper on the return to try to do more with the thunderous first delivery.
It doesn’t work here as Griekspoor marauds through a clean hold to quickly level once more.
17:18
SINNER 3-2 GRIEKSPOOR
Sinner guns a flurry of first serves and it makes life far easier, with his fifth ace of the day helping him along to a routine game for the loss of one point.
