The Spaniard has been sidelined since April after he injured his right wrist during his win over Otto Virtanen in the first round of the Barcelona Open.
It is an issue that forced him to withdraw from the French Open, where he would have been the defending champion, while he also confirmed he would have to miss Queen’s and Wimbledon to continue his recovery.
However, the latest update is an encouraging one.
In the video, his wrist is still strapped up, and he does not hit any shots off that wing, but he is moving round the court mimicking his right-handed forehand and hitting some shots with his left hand.
Alcaraz has established himself as one of the biggest names in the game since he arrived on the scene as a teenager.
He won the Australian Open in January to complete the career Grand Slam and lift his seventh major title but has been unable to build on that momentum.
Alcaraz admitted it was a ”difficult time” when he had to withdraw from the French Open and he has been unable to recover in time for Wimbledon, where he lost in the final last year to Jannik Sinner.
Addressing his followers on social media about having to miss the grass-court swing, Alcaraz said: ”My recovery is going well, and I feel much better, but unfortunately I’m still not ready to be able to play, and that’s why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen’s and Wimbledon.
”They are two really special tournaments for me and I'll miss them a lot. We keep working to return as soon as possible.”

In Alcaraz’s absence, world No. 1 Sinner was expected to capture the men’s singles title at Roland-Garros, but the event in Paris has been anything but predictable this year.
Sinner was undone by the heat in the second round, losing to Juan Manuel Cerundolo after leading by two sets to love and 5-1 in the third.
That seemed to pave the way for Novak Djokovic to get his hands on a historic 25th Grand Slam title. But, similarly to Sinner, the Serbian was beaten by Brazilian sensation Joao Fonseca in a decider, having taken the opening two sets.

With the draw now wide open, the pressure is on Alexander Zverev to produce the goods and pick up a maiden Grand Slam.
Zverev takes on another young Spanish star in Rafael Jodar in the last eight.
