ALCARAZ DELIGHTS AT HIS FORM AND TARGETS 'REVENGE' AGAINST ZVEREV IN THE SEMIS
"I’m really happy with the way that I’m playing every match," he said during his on-court interview.
"I think from the first round until now, I think that my level… I was increasing my level with every match and I’m just really happy about it."
On the prospect of a 13th career meeting with Alexander Zverev, he added: "Well, I think increase my level (is the key to him winning the match).
"I've seen Sascha through the whole tournament and I know he is playing great tennis; really solid, aggressively. I think he is serving pretty well so I have to be ready.
"We practised in the week before the tournament began and he beat me 7-6, but playing such great tennis, so it’s..(going to be tough)
"We’ve got to be ready – not only me but my team as well – to play tactically really, really well.
It's going to be a great battle and I’m really looking forward to playING him again here and taking revenge.
It’s going to be great, can't wait for that."
Alcaraz lost in four sets to Zverev in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Australian Open.

BREAK! - ALCARAZ 7-5 6-2 5-1 DE MINAUR
The end is nigh.
There’s an uncomfortable silence as de Minaur’s troubles continue with a timid backhand into the net that has him wanting to demolish his racquet.
He shows real restraint and comes up trumps with clutch serving to fend off two more break points and drag himself to deuce.
Alcaraz earns a third chance with an exquisite, sliced drop volley and this time Alex buckles with a poor forehand long.
Carlitos will now serve for the match.

ALCARAZ 7-5 6-2 4-1 DE MINAUR
Alcaraz has got some super rhythm on serve now and when Alex does conjure up a fabulous return the Spaniard passes him with an exceptional forehand down the line.

ALCARAZ 7-5 6-2 3-1 DE MINAUR
Alcaraz launches into a Hollywood crosscourt forehand at 15-30 that leaves vapour trails.
It would have been the shot of the day, but it lands long and he has a chuckle with his team. It shows how comfortable he is right now.
The top seed skips into the air in frustration as he drills a backhand attempt up the line into the net to lose his grip on the game and although he does push to deuce, de Minaur despatches a sharp forehand winner to get back on the board.
11:24
ALCARAZ 7-5 6-2 3-0 DE MINAUR
Alcaraz is perhaps too relaxed in that comfort zone and things quickly turn awkward with a double fault and a miscued backhand offering up a glimmer for Alex.
The Spaniard makes Pulp (30-30) but then gets careless with a backhand and is left relieved when the Aussie misses a forehand by a whisker.
The world number one leads the way from deuce and eventually consolidates when de Minaur can only rasp a forehand into the net off a devilish low slice down the line.
11:21
BREAK! - ALCARAZ 7-5 6-2 2-0 DE MINAUR
Could that be the end of Demon’s belief?
The sixth seed is undone by winners off both flanks from his opponent as he drops serve to 15 with very little resistance on show.
11:14
ALCARAZ 7-5 6-2 1-0 DE MINAUR
The world number one can smell it now.
There’s no let-up as he marauds through a clean hold to snare the scoreboard advantage early in the third.
11:12
SET! - ALCARAZ 7-5 6-2 DE MINAUR
De Minaur swishes his racquet through the air in frustration as a tame forehand burrows low into the net to cough up set point all-too-easily.
The Aussie responds with a crushing plus-one forehand but then offers up a second opportunity with a backhand long after an incredible show of elasticity from Carlitos to get a return back into play.
The top seed again finds great depth on the stretch in the rally that follows and Demon can only jab an awkward forehand into the net.
The home hope looks forlorn while a delighted Alcaraz moves to within a set of the last four.

ALCARAZ 7-5 5-2 DE MINAUR
Alcaraz is ticking along nicely at 30-15 but a shanked forehand long and an ill-timed double fault gift Demon the chance to break back.
This time it’s the Aussie’s turn to shank a forehand off the island and with it go his chances.
Alcaraz turns defence into attack when he backs up a counter-punched forehand down the line by crouching low into a crosscourt backhand winner.
The Spaniard saves the best until last as he digs out the hold, almost effortlessly swishing another crosscourt backhand winner that gives de Minaur absolutely no chance.
11:00
ALCARAZ 7-5 4-2 DE MINAUR
Alex corks his 11th winner of the contest via his forehand and it’s the pick of his points in a very tidy - and rare - love hold.
10:55
ALCARAZ 7-5 4-1 DE MINAUR
Alcaraz laughs as a lovely bit of cat and mouse ends with him being undone by Demon’s electric reactions to flip a ball down the line into the open court.
It’s the highlight of the game that gives the Aussie a slither of hope at 40-30.
Alcaraz responds with his fourth ace to quickly slam the door shut and stay on course for a two-set lead.
10:50
ALCARAZ 7-5 3-1 DE MINAUR
There’s more trouble for Alex when he stretches every sinew to reach a deep crosscourt forehand but can only counter punch one of his own just wide down the line.
The Aussie has to paint the lines to stay alive and make 30-30 but he coughs up a break point when an injection of pace off the Alcaraz forehand forces an error into the alley.
The sixth seed staves it off with a clutch serve and then comes out on top in a quite brilliant rally, hitting the corners with a run of blockbuster forehands.
It’s a point that fittingly provides the platform for his maiden hold of the set as another big, first serve gets him out of dodge.
10:44
ALCARAZ 7-5 3-0 DE MINAUR
Alcaraz resets mid-game as a pair of unforced errors threaten to derail his surge.
Demon should do better with a forehand at 0-30 and it proves costly as the Spanish top seed fires a winner off that flank and a timely ace as he consolidates via a scenic route.

BREAK! - ALCARAZ 7-5 2-0 DE MINAUR
De Minaur clouts down his first ace of the match at Pulp (30-30) but a miscued backhand allows Alcaraz to probe at deuce.
The Spaniard drills just long off a crosscourt backhand on a first break point but conjures up a second with an adjustment off a similar strike.
Demon tries to remain patient and resilient in a lengthy crosscourt backhand exchange, but eventually drifts a slice a whisker wide to hand over his serve.

SET! - ALCARAZ 7-5 DE MINAUR
It’s Carlos Alcaraz who take what proved to be a rollercoaster 58-minute opener.
De Minaur wobbles with two unforced errors off rallying balls and then drifts a loose forehand way long to cough up three set points.
The Aussie finds the first serve to somehow fight his way to the sanctuary of deuce, but a rapid return sees him miscalculate a low backhand just wide to cough up a fourth chance.
A quite wonderful rally full of volleys, lobs and all-court action ensues with Demon clipping the tape with a crosscourt forehand that agonisingly flies wide.
