GAME, SET AND MATCH! - DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 ALCARAZ
The 10-time champion moves on in Melbourne after ending Carlos Alcaraz’s bid to win the Career Grand Slam at the age of 21.
Djokovic hit back from a set down to get his reward for some high-risk tennis, coming up trumps in the key moments to serve out to 30 in three hours and 37 minutes.
It means the Serb’s quest for an 11th major Down Under is still on course along with his hope of winning a stand-alone record 25th singles Grand Slam crown.
Djokovic will now meet No.2 seed Alexander Zverev in the last four after moving 5-3 up in his H2H with the young Spaniard.

DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 5-4 ALCARAZ
Carlitos gives himself one last chance to stay alive as his 10th ace and another crushing first serve see him hold to 15.
Djokovic will now serve for the match.

DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 5-3 ALCARAZ
Alcaraz tries to build on the momentum from that incredible hold of serve and follows a scorching backhand down the line with a blistering forehand up the same flank.
Djokovic responds with a sublime backhand winner down the line of his own, but Carlitos is being far more consistent in the rally all of a sudden, luring the error for two break points following another exhilarating 22-shot exchange.
The Spaniard shanks an inside-out forehand way off the island to miss his cue on the first and Djokovic’s serve and volley takes him to the sanctuary of deuce.
Djoker takes a tumble chasing an Alcaraz howitzer that just misses, but recovers to charge in on a net cord and push a forehand into the empty court.
The 10-time champion will be delighted to have survived the scare and is now just one game away from the last four.

DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 4-3 ALCARAZ
Alcaraz unravels again at 40-15 with a fifth double fault and a loose drop shot into the net.
Djokovic locks-in on the return and earns a break point for some insurance.
Carlitos defends magnificently and risks it all with great depth, eventually forcing a forehand wide after an epic 33-shot rally.
Alcaraz giggles, loving the calibre of it all, but Novak just leans on his knees and gasps for breath.
The Spaniard finds a clutch serve to take control and then stands tall at the net to block away a pass on the volley and somehow stay in it.

DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 4-2 ALCARAZ
The finish line is edging nearer for Djokovic.
The Serb lets a 30-0 advantage slip but plants down his fifth ace to earn game point.
Alcaraz extends it with a smart, crosscourt dropper and pegs Nole back again with a crunching forehand winner down the line.
The World No.3 gets a huge slice of fortune with a dead net cord return to make deuce for a third time, but Carlitos drags a second-serve return into the net to waste a half chance and then leaks one long off a body serve.
13:18
DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 3-2 ALCARAZ
Alcaraz slaps down his ninth ace down the T to dart through a clean hold and stay in contention.
The Spaniard nails a pair of forehand errors along the way and may wonder how he is losing this match given the stats.
The No.3 seed has thundered 43 winners to 35 unforced errors, while Djoker is tied at 26-26 in those categories - but it's just five UEs in the last set and a half for the Serb.
It’s also worth pointing out he has bossed it on the return with 6/12 BP converted compared to Carlitos’ 4/9.
13:15
DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 3-1 ALCARAZ
Alcaraz finds another gear to probe at 30-30 with a succession of superb crosscourt backhands and then gets his opportunity when Djoker double faults for the third time in the match.
Once again, the Serb comes up trumps in the rally with a raking, deep backhand and then edges out the hold from deuce when Alcaraz slips trying to retrieve a defensive lob.
It’s that sort resilience and game-winning point that suggests this is going to be Djokovic’s day…

IT'S EASY TO FORGET DJOKOVIC TOOK A MEDICAL TIME-OUT AT THE END OF THE FIRST SET
It's clear that there is nothing troubling the Serb now given the way he is moving and stretching on the slide behind his baseline.

BREAK! – DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 1-0 ALCARAZ
Carlos Alcaraz’s bid to secure a Career Grand Slam at the age of 21 are looking unlikely at this juncture.
The Spaniard double faults for 15-30 and then comes unstuck at the net as Djoker rasps a series of low passes that eventually help him breach the youngster's defences and tee up two break points.
The No.3 seed saves one with a first serve, but a forehand miss on a second puts him in deep, deep trouble.

SET! – DJOKOVIC 4-6 6-4 6-3 ALCARAZ
Novak Djokovic is one set away from another semi-final in Melbourne!
The 10-time champion’s nerves are visible as he double faults on the opening point.
Alcaraz senses a half chance and executes a wonderful backhand drop shot to turn the screw at 0-30.
A clutch serve and a bad miss on a second-serve return leave Alcaraz barking in frustration and there’s an inevitability about what will transpire when he goes too big on a forehand attempt down the line and hits the net post.
A lovely dropper-lob combo almost helps him to deuce, but Djoker pulls off a ridiculous low crosscourt pass from deep in his left wing to force a volley error.
He then shrugs at the crowd as if to say: ‘that’s what I do’ as they rise to applaud a sensational finale to the third set.
