Aljaz Bedene comfortably beaten in last eight of Chennai Open

Aljaz Bedene was well beaten in the quarter-finals of the Chennai Open by fifth seed Benoit Paire.

The British number four has never failed to reach the last eight in five appearances at the Indian tournament.

But the three-hour battle it took Bedene to defeat Martin Klizan on Thursday appeared to take its toll as he fell 6-3 6-0, winning just six points in the second set.
