18:50 - Thanks for joining us tonight, an eventful day with a handful of world records and gold for Liam Tancock in the 50m backstroke for Great Britain.
18:45 - The USA take gold and it's a huge, huge world record of 3:27.28 and the top three are all under the WR too! Australia second with an Asian record, Germany third with a European record, a superb show of suit-aided relay swimming. Britainaredisqualified. Shame, but an excellent championships for Team GB all the same.
18:44 - MichaelPhelps now takes the fly for the US who are now in second, overall they are 1.7s under the world record! David Walters is leading for the US in the freestyle now, over 2s under the WR...
18:43 - Aaron Peirsol breaks the 100m backstroke world record on his leg! He didn't even make the individual final!
18:38 - The final event of the day and the Championships is the men's 4x100m IM relay: Britain, Brazil, USA, Germany, Australia, France, Russia and Japan - that's the line-up and the lane draw.
18:26 - Hosszu bursts into the lead now with a great first length on the freestyle and it's all in the sprint and Miley is in bronze position and Coventry fades, Rice is coming back and Hosszu wins it! Coventry bounces right back to get silver and Rice pips Miley to bronze! What a finish. Superb race
18:24 - At the half-way point Rice is looking tired during the backstroke with Coventry and Mosszu well ahead and the pack chasing. Breaststroke now and Rice really has to push on. Miley is in a good spot too as they turn into the second length of the breaststroke. Coventry is struggling and Miley is in bronze place at the moment and Rice is coming on strong now...
18:18 - The women's 400m IM now, Oz's Olympic champ and world-record holder Stephanie Rice, Zim star Kirsty Coventry, Julia Smit of the US, Katinka Hosszu of Hungary, Liz Beisel of the USA, Canada's Tanya and Hunks Hannah Miley of Great Britain - the European record holder - all line up in a strong field.
18:08 - Mellouli cruises home to win the 1,500m freestyle, just outside Grant Hackett's unassailable world record wit 14:37, only three seconds or so off though, Cochrane gets silver and there's an almighty ruck on for bronze and Sun pips Colbertaldo!
18:06 - Mellouli is in front now, powering away and he will take this title but the crowd are getting excited as home fave Colbertaldo surges to catch Zhang and the Italians are loving this!
18:04 - Zhang has now dropped off and it's Mellouli and Cochrane with the Tunisian seeming to be cruising and slowly eating into the Canadian's lead. Great turn by Mellouli at 1,250...
18:00 - So past 800m Davies has dropped off and it's Mellouli, Cochrane and Zhang who have pulled away.
17:55 - Cochrane leads at 400 with Davies and Mellouli in the mix, but Cochrane is very strong leading from the front.
17:50 - The men's 1500m freestyleOussama Mellouli of Tunisia line-up against strong Chinese duo Sun Yang and Zhang Lin and Canadian star Ryan Cochrane. David Davies represents Great Britain in this race, lane one for him.

I think Alshammar has silver and Campbell ties with Veldhuis for bronze! Halsall squeezed out into fifth but a British record of 24.11! What a race!

17:20 - Lochte dominates the first 100m and Cseh is nowhere and Lochte leads halfway and it's Brazil's Pereira who is mounting a surprise challenge for gold. At the final turn it's Cseh making the move but too late, Lochte leads and Pereira is fading and so is Lochte as Cseh sneaks in but Lochte just holds on for gold! Four minutes and 7.01 seconds, well off world-record pace but it"s gold for Lochte.
17:18 - Men's 400m IM now, Laszlo Cseh is the favourite but Ryan Lochte will mount a challenge despite recent fitness problems.
