ORECA eye English podium

The Silverstone 1000km ends the endurance season and the Signes-based outfit will run the ORECA 01 of Olivier Panis and Nicolas Lapierre in England while sending another car to Atlanta in the United States for the Petit Le Mans event.

The team managed third spot in Barcelona and in the Algarve, while they snatched fifth in the famous Le Mans 24 Hours.

"For this race we've got a few new aerodynamic tweaks," said technical director David Floury.

"We've also done some work on the rear of the car where we've still got potential. We're hoping to move up another step in terms of pure performance."

Panis and Lapierre are yet to finish on the podium in the drivers' category this season.

ORECA will face stiff competition from Aston Martin on the latter's home turf.
