'It would be amazing' - British racer Robert Lambert targets silver in Poland Speedway GP at Torun

Britain's Robert Lambert is currently sitting in second spot in the FIM Speedway standings ahead of the DeWalt FIM Speedway GP of Poland on Saturday in Torun, knowing he needs to either reach the final or finish third in one of the semis to clinch second spot in the overall classification. British racer Robert Lambert is aiming to land his next FIM Speedway Grand Prix victory in Poland as he looks to secure silver at the SGP World Championship.
He will take part in the DeWalt FIM Speedway GP of Poland on Saturday in Torun, and he hopes to build on his victory in Denmark two weeks ago.
Lambert, twice a winner of the FIM Speedway of Nations with his country, claimed the win with Polish star Bartosz Zmarzlik in second place behind him. Zmarzlik completed his hat-trick of world championships, making it five in total.
The champion will pick up the trophy in Torun on Saturday, but it is yet to be seen if Lambert will finish in second or third spot on the podium.
While he is assured of one of those two positions, he is only 10 points clear of Sweden’s Fredrik Lindgren.
Lindgren has 127 and Lambert 137, meaning the Brit needs to reach the final, or finish third in either of the semis, to be sure of second spot, whatever Lindgren’s final position.

Lindgren, in turn, needs eights points to ensure he finishes clear of both Slovakia's Martin Vaculik (114 points) and Britain’s Dan Bewley (111 points).
Speaking to FIM Speedway, Lambert said: “Like Bartek [Zmarzlik] said to me, the first win is always the best one. I am the kind of person who is never happy with where I finish. I am happy for the moment, but we obviously push for the next one now.
“I have finally done it, and I can tick that off in my career book and move on to bigger and better things. Winning another one would be awesome. Let’s start collecting them up.

“I hope I go on to win more and more. It’s obviously a goal of mine to be in Bartek’s position one day. I’m going to keep pushing and fighting and doing all I can.
"We don’t know what will happen in the future, so I can only act in the moment. We will work on it, keep pushing, and the hunger will never go away.
“Standing on the podium is going to be great. Whatever the medal is, I will be super happy. Winning a medal was the goal of the season, so that’s ticked off. I will just fight in Torun and see what I can get. If I can get a level up from bronze, it would be amazing.”
